Hi there! And yes, they chose the songs for those vids, and Destina chose the song for Blaze of Glory. In all of those cases, their idea was tied to the song - and for all of them, I could see it right away - there wasn't any kind of issue of negotiation because it clicked for me, perfectly. Thuvia had the most well-developed concept - she had some specific lyric matches, and a lot of the structure (like, the Dana focus in the final verse), as well as a very developed political thesis. RivkaT just pointed me at songs and the concept was clear right away. Destina had the idea for switching between Sam and Dean's POV and a couple of suggested lyric matches. But in all of those cases, none of this was an issue for me because I was basically on board with their concepts from the beginning.

I should also add that for the auction vids - Blaze of Glory, Pioneers, and Origin Stories - RivkaT, Thuvia, and Destina all gave me multiple songs and concepts to choose from (multiple fandoms in RivkaT's and Thuvia's cases), and I chose the one that made the most sense to me. I.e., the ones I didn't "see," I didn't choose :-). Which means that yes, I think it's very possible there would be songs I'd have difficulty with, but when I do auctions I ask people to give me a couple of choices, and so it's always worked out one way or the other.

I didn't really work with them along the way for the specifics of the lyrics beyond the initial prompts, but Origin Stories went through a very heavy beta process after the first draft was complete, both with Thuvia and with several additional betas.

And, thank you so much re Groove! That one was definitely a lot of fun :-).
