(no subject)
Okay, due to the overwhelming response I got to wanting to change my SN on here (yes, I'm being sarcastic), I thought I'd just post some words and ideas I'm toying with for possible screennames, and see if anyone had any suggestions based on those. So here we go:
-aristophanes (like my MSN name, aristophanes_5@hotmail.com)
-épouvantard (the French word for the boggarts in the Harry Potter books, although the accent might pose a problem
-Poudlard (the French word for Hogwarts, again HP books)
-something to do with a phoenix (or phénix), as I like them
-Baby Bebop (from Francesca Lia Block's book of the same title), although I think it would give the impression that I'm a jazz musician, which I'm not-- although I do love bebop, so maybe that would be appropriate
-I was also toying with something along the lines of "child of the sun," based on Aristophanes' story about the origin of love. The Children of the Sun were orinally people that looked like two men put together (the Children of the Earth looked like two women put together, and the Children of the Moon looked like a man and a woman put together). The gods decided to split everyone in half, but then created love as a way for everyone to put themselves back together again, if only temporarily. (If you've seen Hedwig and the Angry Inch, this story probably sounds familiar! It was taking from Plato's Symposium.) So obviously, the Children of the Sun are gay boys! :-D The only problem is that most people aren't going to know the reference, and they'll probably think I just like spending a lot of time outdoors during the summer-- which couldn't be further from the truth, lol! That's actually why I use Aristophanes on MSN.
