Best laid plans of mice and men, and all that.
I never managed to visit mom and spent Christmas all alone (just the way I like it :). No, seriously, woke up on Christmas Eve feeling cruddy with low grade fever and enough ickyness to have no appetite, so visiting plans were postponed.
Just as well, I suppose, because the day before I went on one of those 3+ hours walks, which I always forget I'm way too old and out of practice to do. I was so stiff from all that walking that I couldn't walk about without doing the old folks routine (shuffling about at lowest speed, supporting my bad hip, and complaining how much it hurt). Getting old(er) sucks sometimes, don't ya think? ;-)
Apparently we had white Christmas after all. Not that I managed to notice until after the fact, but hey, it still happened.
