If they're empty, Victor, there will be no notes on them. You're supposed to take notes, aren't you, to finsih your studies? So you could always, I suppose, buy simple, ugly notepads tot aike the actual notes, and leave the notebooks empty. Or, better still, copy everything into the notebooks afterwards; that way, things would stick in your brain much better. Seeing you've got nothing like the perfect memory Tomjon Vitoller seems to be punished with, and keep looking for your things all the time.
Some thing else: don't you have relatives in Nothingfjord?
Oh, I see. So it's all very well and good, and that was only an à propos for a journal entry and a conversation. It's good to see you on the journals again. Of course, as you're now living with Ponder in the same place where Ponder is, you don't have to talk over the PC that much any more; you can talk in person. It's the same with Beth and me; we hardly ever comment on each other's PC entries.
So, what about those relatives in Nothingfjord? I wasn't asking out of idle curiosity, or because I saw a joke in that, but because Beth and I would need some people in Nothingfjord or some similarly far away place.
Believe me, Victor, we're trying Genua as well. We're trying all sorts of places for what we have to do, narrowing down the options. It'll all take a while. But it seems that the number of potential contacts in Nothingfjord is rather small, and to get to know some people there would really help in solving our present problems. Seems your people are all such barbarians, the Chidders have very few trade contracts there, and nobody one could trust with what we need to trust people with.
Because it is far, far away. And not a pleasant place with things written on the hills, as other places far, far away are said to be, but cold. And lonely. And the people there are reported to be gruff, stout, very direct, and quite reliable. And yes, it's cold, and there is nothing there. It sounds like the ideal place for our purposes.
Because when somebody is running away through nothing, they can be seen for a long time, on account of them being something set off against background of nothing. Snow is especially good for this, as people leave traces in it.
Because there is somebody we want far, far away, and safe. Some Sea Bandit family who'd take in a guest and makes sure, in their gruff Sea Bandit way, that the guest doesn't take off, would be ideal. Of course we'd pay for that person's board and lodgings, or whatever else Sea Bandits would expect for that kind of favour.
A thoroughly unpleasant person who has been causing no end of troubles recently, and who needs to be far away from Ankh-Mopork.
If you believe you can think of somebody that might be willing to take in a guest for an indefinite time, I can open my journal entry to you that would tell you all you need to know about it all. But I would not sully anybody with that knowledge without need.

Or because you've decided to use a notpad during lectures and then copy it all out?
