We hope you are having a wonderful summer! With only eight weeks until the term starts, there are a few items we wanted to remind you about to help make your transition to university as smooth as possible.
Confirm Your Acceptance
Check the University of Toronto online Status Check to insure we have received your acceptance from the Ontario University Application Centre (OUAC). OUAC’s confirmation process issues you a “Confirmation Number” online (not as e-mail) as soon as you submitted your acceptance, if you did not receive a confirmation number your acceptance has not been processed. You will need to complete this step to select courses, etc.
Registration
Registration for first-year students is now underway. You need to select your courses. To assist with this, please thoroughly read our Registration Guide, Academic Calendar and Timetable. You will register using the Student Information System, ROSI. Printed versions of the Registration Guide and Academic Calendar are available from the Office of the Registrar for pickup if you have not picked one up yet.
Residence
If you were guaranteed Residence in your acceptance letter you are encouraged to ensure that you have completed all steps to secure your residence space. This includes:
Completed Online Application
Signed Occupancy Agreement
2 passport sized photos
and $600 deposit
If you have not completed all four steps, your guarantee will expire by July 8 and your residence place will be given to another student. See the web for details.
OSAP
Apply for OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program) now. To help speed up your application process, print your “Signature Sheets” and mail them back to OSAP at the address indicated on the sheet.
If you have already applied for OSAP, please monitor the OSAP website for documentation requirements and a finalized student loan amount. Additional information about scholarships and financial aid can be found online.
Transfer Credit
If you are coming to UTM from another post secondary institution you may be eligible for transfer credit. In order to be assessed for transfer credit, you will need to use our online application and pay the processing fee. Apply online.
Orientation
Plans for UTM Orientation are well underway. Students are encouraged to participate. Orientation week starts September 4, check the website
for activities of interest.
“Head Start” University Preparation Program
UTM offers students a University Preparation Program. Tuesdays and Thursday evenings beginning August 2, more info online.
Transportation Options to UTM
Explore your transportation options before you arrive in September. Find our bus routes and learn about car pooling and parking from our website.
