If you're here, you might have had an invitation from Victor's journal to your journal or a text on your phone or a note on your door; however, since the prospect of going through all of her friends and sending a message to the ones that she has presents for sounds daunting at best and frightening at worst, here Victor is ( Read more... )

'is time for surprises?'

Because Silens still thinks the whole idea of wrapping gifts up so people can't see what they are is just the greatest invention ever.

"It is!"

She has a lot for Silens, because she wants to look out for her buddy. A bag of fresh oranges and apples and peaches, pens of all different styles and colors, markers, and (her favorite) gloves made just for him. She would have made them white, but she figured that would get too dirty too soon, so she made them pale blue. It's all in a sparkly blue box.

He opens the box carefully and pulls out each item, sniffing the fruit happily and looking over the pens. Quills are about as advanced as it gets, in his world. His one eye opens wider at the gloves and he sits on the floor and pulls off his leather bracers. There's a couple of grey scars on his arms and hands. He pulls them on, wiggling his talons experimentally, and then gives her one of his bulldog smiles.

It takes him a minute to write his reply because he has to try out a different marker in each letter, so it turns out rainbow. 'is wonderful!'

She's so happy to see him happy; his smile is infectious in the good way. It gives her the warm fuzzies, makes her feel cozy in her insides, like her organs are all bundled up in scarves and hats. "They look great on you! And I'm so glad you like it."

And to think, he had to learn how to smile by copying humans. Who don't have great big lower canines that make them look like a friendly bulldog, but he can't help that.

He writes the next message with just one pen, forgetting to smile. 'I did not know it was surprise time. Must get you surprises!'

She thinks his smile is absolutely lovely, in all of its bulldogishness. "That's real sweet of you."

It's good somebody does, because his own people just think it's weird. Or possibly a sign he's about to bite.

'Like giving surprises. These are all good surprises thank you! No fruit at home. The trees are all bare.'

"It makes me really, really happy that you like it. I figured that it might be winter near you, so I wanted to get you fruit." She's noticed that in a lot of cases, seasons sync up in the Nexus. Not always, but often enough.
