It's probably good idea to learn how to drive, in case of an emergency. Even if your cars use internal combustion engines.

I probably should, but the whole darn concept is distressing as heck.

Spaceships aren't that much safer, really. Does yours have FTL drive?

I could never drive it on my own, and really, mostly I just watch, but... I know how to do some of the stuff that needs to be done.

Faster-than-light, yeah? Mine doesn't have that.

Some is better than none. I don't know how to pilot a ship.

That's right. It can be extremely dangerous if you don't know where you're jumping to.

I'd love to study that in more detail sometime.

It's classified on my world, so far as I know. Or now it is, anyway. The cylons have FTL that can jump farther, though.

Oh, geez. That's no good at all. The second part, not the first bit. Even though the first bit is less than ideal, it makes rational sense.

I suppose the FTL drive itself isn't classified so much as our navigational system. I don't really know how much it works, personally.

It's okay. They don't know where we're going (not that we know where we're going, either).

Are you going to have a birthday party?

As long as their superadvanced system can't find your superadvanced system, I suppose things are okey dokey!

I don't know. I hadn't planned anything special, but I might fall into a party.

You should do what sounds like the most fun. But make sure cake and ice cream are involved (if you like those things).

Oh, I could live off of ice cream, candy, cake, cookies and coffee, for forever. The five Cs, staple foods in my diet.

That sounds like my kind of diet. :) I was on my ship for my last birthday, but my friend Maggie got access to the galley and baked me a cake. We had ice cream, too.

Chocolate. I'm a traditionalist. ;) What's your favorite kind of cake?

Chocolate cake is really nice. I don't know what my favorite kind is, really. I like them all. Maybe nontraditional flavors, ridiculous flavors like they have with ice cream.
