Life Update - The Month of June

Jun 04, 2007 23:04

My baby mamma is nearing the point of chest burst threshhold. So far its been an easy going pregnancy. We've had one major scare in which little Anne stopped moving for a period of over an hour, a rarity for the little one. So, Kesha and I rushed to the hospital where we played the military game of hurry up and wait. They hooked her up to monitors and Kesha was left in uncomfortable positions for a dozen hours or so. I missed a day of work and a night of sleep so that the doctors could tell us that while they couldn't figure out what was happening, nothing was wrong.

Needless to say, neither of us was encouraged. But, never the less, Kesha felt little Anne get back to her aerobics the following day. All is well on the baby front.

Game news:

Howie's Requiem is entertaining, but Morris's Forsaken is probably going to be a no go for me in the near future.

Requiem has a newness for me that I enjoy. The pregnancy coupled with my job's erratic schedule has kept me from a few games, but I enjoy the interaction. Howie's plots....frighten me. And what roughness he's displayed so far as a new ST, I think will be sanded out of him by Camarilla critiquing and interplay in a few months or so.

Forsaken is awesome. Everyone tells me so. But it occurs less frequently than Requiem, and the conventions and online interaction are the suck. So, my nongame involvement is nil. And my in game involvement is shot down by pregnancy and work. So, I'm not exactly giving it up, but I don't think I'll be able to get into it for months at the least.

I haven't yet made a mage character yet. I seem to always forget to get it done. Le sigh.

Non Camarilla Roleplay:

Masquerade:
A new Masquerade game has kicked up in Jacksonville. I'm playing a 100 year old Brujah smuggler. I've played in two games, and two very largely attended downtime scenes. In the course of that, Calvin (my Brujah) has successfully become the Primogen of the Brujah, the Sheriff of Jacksonville, the Scourge of Jacksonville, and the Seneschal of Jacksonvill in service to the Tremere Prince. I get things done. In the course of such duties I've wiped out the Gangrel clan for insubordination and active anti-Camarilla interests. Killing a clan is hard business, but its very rewarding. Go Brujah.

DnD:
My Warlock in Kesha's Forgotten Realms game has devised at least 3 retirement locations after he's done adventuring. But Vathek Noctechilde (my warlock) isn't yet done crossing the realms with Lady Archmagus Jacqueline Sparota. The two of them are desperately striving to save the High Priestess Tearsarine of Sune and Jacqueline's lover and fellow Magus Christian of Ravenloft. What has befallen them, neither of the arcanists know. But whatever troubles Tearsarine and Christian will have their hands full when they arrive.

Shadowrun:
The Streetwardens have survived the onslaught of the Yakuza-Mafia war. In the aftermath of that as well as the attempt by a Soeolpa Ring Decker to lead a cadre of Shadowrunners to their deaths, the Streetwardens have become very interested in low risk jobs. Nevertheless, a payoff of huge proportions has them considering a space station snatch that can't be considered safe by any means. Low-earth-orbit snatch and grab is always a risky business.

Pits of the Picts:
The Rockhunter pack of garou strives to liberate Little Rock from the clutches of the Black Spiral Dancers. Over the past half century, those wretched fallen changers have burrowed into the gravel pit industries of the Rock. The web of corruption has spread outwords from the capital to the furthest outreaches of the state, pushing the native Fianna and Uktena from their relatively low strength caerns and killing or corrupting kin in large ammounts. In the course of reclaiming the Natural State for Gaia's chosen warriors, the Rockhunter's have devoted themselves to the totem servant of Boar called Razorback, and garnered the help of an Elder Strider to open a Caern in the out of the way location of Mena, Arkansas. From there, they seek out the weakness of the Dancers that will let them bring a new tale of Glory to the Record. But now that they have opened the Turning Leaves Caern, they must find the lost cubs of Arkansas before the Dancer's turn them. And so the Rite of the Reclaimed Kinfetch is born.
