So Dashwood's gone out of business, and he's blaming it on me, and he's telling everyone. Including, rumour has it, Professor Dumbledore.
As if I care. There are more important things to worry about. Claire Jeannot is missing. She hasn't come to breakfast. She wasn't seen--dressed or not--anywhere in the combined dormitories last night. Dinah Zeller, Jenny Wyngarde and Helena Goldstein all say they haven't seen her since yesterday morning.
She left a note on her desk, but it wasn't finished, it was written in French, and Jenny Wyngarde spilled tea on it--she's been using Claire's desk because her own is covered with Dinah Zeller's secret collection of back issues of Witch Weekly that apparently her mother's not supposed to know about.
She has Arithmancy this morning and then Transfiguration. I don't even want to think about what will happen if she's late to Scalara's class. She'll be switched till she bleeds for sure, and it's not her fault, she's upset because her brother died.
I don't know what I am going to do!
