New Year's Resolutions

Jan 01, 2011 22:25

I have been a member on LJ for about a year and a half, though I rarely post.  I am hoping to change that.  I have set a resolution to post on LJ every day.  It shouldn't be too hard, since I am on here every day, checking on the latest with all of you.  Between my goals of weight loss, and to try to sew a little bit every week (every day just isn't possible at the moment), posting about my wonderful family, and the occasional rant, there should be lots of fodder there.

To catch you all up, the last time I posted was late spring/early summer, when I posted that I was pregnant.  I am only now getting around to posting pics and everything.

So, without further ado, I introduce to you Ms. Taigan Skye Devlaminck.

(that's "Tai" as in "Tailor" and "gan" as in "Megan")  I read the name once in a Melanie Rawn novel and fell in love with it, and Shannon has always wanted the middle name Skye if he ever had a girl (for some reason, the first name never mattered to him! lol).  She was born October 5, by C-section.  My other two children were unscheduled c-sections (both induced labour, with failure to progress), so this time we thought we were taking the easy way out.  Not so much, though.  They had to try 3 times to get the epidural in, giving me local freezing 4 times in the process, I needed to have medication to RAISE my heart rate, and she was VERY stubborn - the doc had to use forceps to get her out.  It was totally worth it in the end of course!  She was a BIG baby too.  She was delivered a week early, and was 8 pounds, 14 and a half ounces, and almost 21 inches long.  Daddy was so proud of his little girl, and her two big brothers were completely THIRLLED with her.

With the exception of two VERY long weeks when she was colicky, she has been a complete peach!  The boys have been great with her, and daddy can't get enough of her!  And of course I am totally in love with her too!  Can't imagine my life any different.

More tomorrow!!!

Good luck to all those who have set out to better themselves - YOU CAN DO IT!!!
