They can't top you, curly top!
So, if you all didn't already know, I really love Shirley Temple movies. Like seriously. So considering how I have more time on my hands right now, I've decided to have a Shirley Temple marathon of sorts. So I'm watching one Shirley Temple movie per day. I own about 6. I think 6 days of Shirley is good for now.
Right now I'm watching Curly Top. It's funny, because every Shirley Temple movie is essentially the same. She's always an orphan. She always has an awkwardly pedophile-esque relationship with a charming 30-something man. There is always tap dancing. I love it. Well, not really the pedophile stuff, but these movies are so fun. If you haven't seen the Biography Shirley Temple: The Biggest Little Star, you should watch it. I own it and love it. I'm sure there are other quality Bios out there. Homegirl is an inspiration in her films and in real life.
My gift to you on this Monday evening... one of my favorite musical numbers of all time. Yes that is Jack Haley from Wizard of Oz (faints). He's so effing dreamy. And yes that is Gloria Stuart of Titanic old lady fame. Not the woman dancing, but she's the woman watching in the blue dress.
