The coming semester
So here I am, finishing up the last day of a very busy 1st semester. We'll be out of school for two weeks, and then we come back on my birthday to have regular class for two days before we go into the exam review schedule and then start taking finals. After all that business is finished, though, some excitement ensues: laptops.
Next semester, every single kid at my school will have a laptop which is supposed to be used in class. In fact, it's been mandated by the county office that we're supposed to use the laptops for at least 10 minutes every day. For my own classes (which will be 2 standard English III and one Honors English III), I have more ambitious plans: I am attempting to run an almost entirely paperless classroom.
For those of you who are interested in seeing my journey toward this goal, I have an additional blog: http://teachersanspaper.blogspot.com It's going to be more professional and less geared toward laughing/headdesking at my students than this one. Here you can still catch the funny stuff and my inane rambling about my personal life. (Next semester will hopefully involve more posting and replying than this one has.)
