I love novels of the Victorian era period. A little introduction I guess. My name is Sharon, I live in California, and I just graduated in December as an English and Sociology major. I recently finished reading Charlotte Bronte's Villette which I probably should write a review for if I can overcome my inherent laziness =P I plan on reading all of Wilkie Collins's novels and works. So far have read Woman in White, Moonstone, and The Dead Secret - all of which I soo heartily recommend. If you just need to get lost in a book, be gripped in suspense and curiosity as well as wonderfully distinct characters and voice, well what are you waiting for? ;)
Other Victorian novels I've read:
Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte
Villette - Charlotte Bronte
Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte
Tess of the D'urbervilles - Thomas Hardy
North and South - Elizabeth Gaskell
Wives and Daughters - Elizabeth Gaskell
Lady Audley's Secret - Mary Elizabeth Braddon
Tale of Two Cities - Charles Dickens
Great Expectations - Charles Dickens
Silas Marner - George Eliot
Hopefully I'll be adding lots more to my list this coming year.
