Beth and I always give Mom a hard time (in a good way) at this time of the year because she forgot St. Nick's Day once when we were little. We tease her that the experience of showing up to school with no presents, while all the other kids had their presents with them, was traumatizing. Ever since then, Mom makes sure to never forget the holiday. I love teasing her...
Mom came over today and gave both Shawn and me some pressies. I think she was more excited to give us the presents than we were to receive them, haha! Anyway, she gave me this adorable gingerbread Hello Kitty plushie. She's decked out in a gingerbread cookie costume with all the works: frosting trimming, heart candies, peppermints, and even a mini gingerbread cookie to hold! I totally squee'd when I saw her. ^o^ Even
her back is gorgeous with her name and hearts in pastels!
Now that I think about it, this is my fourth (maybe fifth) Hello Kitty plushie that's dressed in a costume in the past three weeks. Three of them were gifts from other people. People know me all too well. n____n
Shawn got a gift card for Kohl's, which he will definitely use. I only recently realized how much he loves getting new clothes for himself. He deserves the opportunity to go out to get stuff for himself more often. Sometimes I have to practically shove him out the door to do something nice for himself-- but he always comes home happy!
I'm pretty excited to give Mom her holiday pressies. I have her main pressie already, but I'd like to get one more small one soon...
