I didn't think I had anything going today, but as it turns out, I guess I did. I woke up this morning and did my usual stuff online. Then I realized I had a few things I had to get done for the apartment-- I had to give our manager our two month notice so we can start preparing to move. After that was finished, I wanted to give a few new apartment managers a call so I could set up tours.
When double checking the current lease Shawn and I have, I realized that it's up on June 30th, not July 15th like we originally thought. That put a little extra pressure on me to find a place as soon as possible. I've done this several times before so I didn't panic too much. Shawn sounded panicked when I texted him about the mixup though. *sigh* Anyway, I printed out all of the information I found online about four or five places and set out to call the numbers listed.
I ended up calling just one of the places; it's the apartment Shawn and I really had our hearts set on. The lady on the other end (Linda) was extremely nice, and very professional, especially compared to all of the other managements we've dealt with. The main guy we needed to talk with (John) was out but Linda was able to give me some good information. Thank goodness, she said that there are units available at the end of June and beginning of July. Everything about this apartment sounds amazing. The last time Shawn and I tried to find an apartment, we ran into the problem of all apartments lacking at least one or two things we needed. This new place has everything we could possibly want, and more. Getting out of the city was my main goal and it looks like we'll be able to do it without spending a ton of money! The rent is only $25 more than what we're paying now and it looks a hundred times more beautiful. I'm so giddy, but I'm also wondering if this place is too good to be true. Oh well-- we'll be able to have all our questions answered when we tour the place. =D
That one phone call put me in a good mood. I told Shawn about everything and he seems to be a lot more optimistic about it as well. *crosses fingers*
After that, Shawn told me that Jeremy's coming by our place around 6. Apparently, they both planned out my night (>__>), but I don't really mind. I talked with Beth and invited her along on our adventure. Now we all have a really nice, relaxing night ahead of us. It turned out to be a great day. And it would be even greater if I could set up a tour time for this prospective apartment!
