Wonderful. You pinpoint Sirius in all these relationships, revealing what's alike and where the differences are with each of the other boys. I love the hints of the future in them, the desperation under what the fic reveals for now. And I like what you did with the repetition of "trying". I'm very fond of repetitions, when they are executed well, and yours are on my list.

Wow, I really liked this. I love the Marauders, and the last paragraph was rather unexpected. I mean, I was initally expecting it to be about Regulus based on your summary but the first three paragraphs just drove him out of my mind, and to have it just hit you again at the end... brilliant.
