Awww. That was the sweetest thing ever, and so realistic. <3 I love your Remus. And your Sirius. And you're-- gah, everything was just so natural and perfect.
One small nitpick is that Remus could have just as easily come to the conclusion that Sirius liked Lily, not James. And since the boys were at Hogwarts in the 70's, Remus probably wouldn't have jumped to James unless he already knew Sirius was bi/gay. But that's insignifigant in the long run, and I loved Remus' reaction to his wrong conclusion. ^_^
And I LOVED the tie-in with Binns at the end. Hee!
I was going to make the same comment, but I'd go further and say that it was much more likely that Remus would jump to the conclusion that Sirius was pining for Lily. After all, it was Lily and Remus that Sirius was watching. And if I were James's friend and I fancied Lily, I certainly wouldn't have wanted to tell James.
But overall, very good. Everyone's actions and reactions were very believable. I love when misunderstandings interfere with romance--especially when it works out in the end.
"Listen," Remus said, putting an arm on the back of Sirius's chair. "Whoever she is, I'm sure she --"
"It's not --"
I was considering having Sirius admit that it wasn't a girl, but I decided to omit it. It hadn't occurred to me that it would make Sirius/Lily more likely, so I guess I might put that part back in.
Thanks for commenting, and for pointing that out. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :D
Thank you! Being realistic is important to me, so I'm glad you thought I did that well.
Thanks for pointing that out ... Something in my mind seems to block out Sirius/Lily, so that really hadn't occurred to me, but I'll have to edit so it makes more sense. :)
