Jun stared at the photo album in his hand as the clank of the train echoed. Today he managed to clean up Tadashi apartment; hardly believing it took him five weeks to fulfill the small request. While moving a bookshelf out of the way he found the forgotten album he held in hand. It was almost completely full, yet the amount of dust on it told Jun it hadn’t been touched since it was placed on that shelf.

“He didn’t want to remember,” Jun spoke out loud.

For each and every one of the photos were of Tadashi’s past life, a police officer upholding each and every one of Kirito’s laws without waver. Though, contained within was just one photo of him in uniform, most were of quiet outings shared between lovers. A picnic with Tadashi smiling, a quick shot of Ryutaro staring off into a sun set, cherry blossoms, weddings photos of both of them dressed in suits looking beyond happy to start their life together. Only through these photographs the old Ryutaro lived, one where the brunet didn’t seem jaded by sickness, and Tadashi didn’t have a worried look behind his eyes. It was the first time Jun saw both of them like that.

“No wonder he volunteered to do this.” He traced the smiles over plastic wrap. “They took away Ryutaro’s smile.”

Jun bit his lip, his realization becoming too serious. It was all too serious now, too close. Tadashi now only had three weeks to complete his mission and easy day left him with more and more of a sleepless night.

He yawned, tired from a sleepless night of worry, and got off at his stop. Making his way to the sanatorium, book in hand, ready to give to Ryutaro. He hoped it might spark something inside of him, yet he knew it was silly to think of such optimistic thoughts. He checked in at front desk then waiting a few minutes as Toshiya was called.

Once arriving the blue haired nurse blink, shocked a bit that the leader of the rebel forcers was actually here, “Jun?”

He stood clutching onto the photo album, “Yes, I was hoping I could visit Ryutaro. Is that alright?”

“Yes, I’m just a bit shocked that you’re here.”

“Yeah, I hoped to visit sooner, but you know…” he trailed off in a nervous laugh.

“Ryu’s with the other patients right now, just follow me.”

The two started their walk down the corridor, Toshiya few steps ahead. Jun looked around, it seemed like such an ordinary place, white and tan colors scheme.  Though it seemed like a dull place to live.

“Is he doing alright?” Jun enquired.

“I’ll be honest he was bad for while there, but we were able to change up his medication so he’s doing better now.”

“That’s good then.”

“Yes, but it’s hard to say how long it will last,” he answered honestly.

Jun shook his head, now getting just a small taste of what Tadashi went through.  They stopped at the end of the hall. Jun could look through the window in the door and could see Ryutaro at a table next to someone with red hair. But Toshiya didn’t seem ready to let him in.

“Are you bringing him something?”

“Yeah.”

He held out the book and Toshiya took it, flipping through the page. The pages were strange for him as well, depressing even, for he could never know the Ryutaro that was in the photographs.

I’m not sure if I can let him see this. It’ll have to check with his doctor first, you understand.”

“Oh, I just thought Ryutaro would’ve liked to see a picture of Tadashi.”

Toshiya sensed the kindness behind Jun’s words, but the male had no idea that such a gesture, not mater how nice it seemed, could, overwhelm Ryutaro’s, making him loose track of himself, yet again.

“I know it doesn’t seem like a big deal, but he just got better. He was bad, really bad, he’d barely spoke and wouldn’t talk. I really don’t want to give him anything that could put him back down that path, you understand.”

“That bad?”

“Yes, with Tadashi gone he fell very quickly, now it’s only the medication that keeps him up.” The solemn words Toshiya spoke silenced any comments from Jun. Along with making him incredibly guilty that he hadn’t kept up with Ryutaro’s condition.

Toshiya didn’t speak, but opened the door and let Jun inside. He gestured to where Ryutaro was and waited not too far off. He did his best to put up a smile and a happy façade, watching as Ryutaro counted his coloring as he hummed to himself. He sat beside the brunet in an empty chair.

“Hey, Ryu how’s it going?”

The brunet turned looking at Jun for a moment as if trying to recognize him, but then his face light up.

“Jun, Jun!” He cheered giving him a hug.

“What are you doing?”

“Writing.”

Jun looked down at the rather scrawling hand writing seeming to consist of the most non-sense words, a scattering of a exploded dictionary. “Oh what?”

“It’s a letter.”

“Ah,” Jun nodded in understanding. “Is it for Purple?”

“No!” Ryu snapped. “I’m not talking to him anymore. He lies.”

“Does he?”

“Yes he’s says that Tadashi left forever, but I know he’s coming back. So I’m writing him a note.”

Jun shook his head, “Should I write one too?”

“Sure, maybe Tada will come back sooner if we both write.”

So Jun did just that, taking some paper and sharing his colors with Ryutaro. In a way it helped him to relax too, writing a note asking Tadashi to come back soon, even if he knew the simple act of returning was probably too much to ask for. He drew a picture of on the back, a little sketch of the two of them holding signs reading ‘come back soon.’

A half hour had passed and in that time he forgot all the stress building around him. He had to leave though, meetings and such to attend. He had said his good bye to Ryutaro and heading out of the room.

“Wait!” Toshiya called out.

Jun stopped, looking back at the male. This time he was the one holding something in his hand.

“I realize that Tadashi’s not some office worker,” he quickly stated.

“Just because I know him doesn-“

“You can cut the crap Jun. I’m a nurse for mental patients, I can tell when someone’s lying, and you’re not very good at it.”

Jun remained quiet.

“I know it might be impossible, but since Ryu’s realized that Tadashi is away he’s been doing nothing but writing him notes. I know that they’re just gibberish, but Tadashi would want to see them. If you can- maybe if there’s some way that you could give them to him?” He asked holding out a yellow enveloped.

Jun nodding, knowing that he was too kind in accepting.

Tadashi wondered if meeting Kohta was really the best idea after the scene in Kirito’s office a few days ago. After all, if he could so easily yell at his brother for something that was entirely out of his hands what would Kirito do to him if he was caught? So he kept to himself the past few days walking around the various government buildings and poking around the unimportant files that would go unnoticed. This little casual meeting with Kohta came as a surprise, but he accepted.

Sighing, Tadashi stepped into the small coffee shop. The rich smell of roasting beans hit his nose and the orange and dark brown color scheme called him to drink. He looked around for the other blond, waving to acknowledge he saw him before ordering his coffee and a scone. It took a moment for them to be prepared, and he took his snack and sat beside Kohta in one of the shop corners.

“Thanks for coming,” Kohta greeted.

Tadashi nodded for a greeting, deciding it was best to keep to himself even here. Even if this was a casual meeting outside any government offices, Kohta was still second in command.  So he watched as the blond held his mug warming his hands against the cold.

“Are things going well? Everyone’s treating you alright?”

Tadashi gave a wary smile, sipping the coffee from the mug. “Hmm… yeah.”

Kohta signed, he could easily guess that Tadashi’s mind was on nothing but that meeting. Specifically when Kirito threw the paper weight against the wall, when he yelled at the top of his lungs at how inadequate he was, when the worry in Tadashi’s eyes met with his.

Does he know that Kirito only gets that mad because he knows that no one else would put up with it-that I’m fine with it? I understand him. I understand that the pressures of constantly being in the spot light drives him slowly mad. He has to crack at some point, and I rather it be me than someone else that wouldn’t understand, Kohta though all the while starting at his mug.

He cleared his throat, “I know Kirito seems a little rough.”

“Rough?” Tadashi questioned.

“He does get mad sometimes, but it’s only because he wants what’s best for Japan.”

“And something completely out of your control was your fault and yours alone?”

It might’ve been too much, but Tadashi couldn’t help but push what all of Shikoku thought was the ‘glorified gofer.’ After all, Kaoru was right that if his plan did work Kohta could easily slide into power. He needed to know how much of a puppet he was, or could be.

Kohta looked into the coffee mug, seeing his reflection, breaking it with a swirl of the liquid. “It was my fault. Internal affairs is my department, and we should’ve found out about this sooner.”

“Doesn’t putting a hole into the wall seem a bit extreme, though?”

Kohta bit his lip.

“Ka-yu knew to leave. I can only assume that this happens enough that he knew to leave Kirito in your hands.”

“No, he’s just on edge lately with-a-with stress.”

“Stress?”

“Yes, from Jun’s forces you see.”

Tadashi nodded knowing that Kohta was pulling at straws now. He decided to push it a bit more, as this could be the most useful information he was able to gather before his first meeting with Kaoru.

He sat up straight, taking in a breath and looking far off into the distance as if in thought. “I can’t help but wonder if Kirito handles all his stressful situations like that. It seems a bit counterproductive.”

“He’s not usually like that.” Kohta spoke quickly. “He’s a good person. You’ve seen him-you’ve seen how he usually is.”

“Perhaps over generous with certain people of his belonging.”

Kohta sighed, “Asagi…I know. He just wanted you to know you can be yourself.”

“The idea might’ve been nice, but it’s not something I can go home and tell France about. In fact, I think most nations wouldn’t like to know about how generous Kirito is with his whores.”

“He cares-he cares too much.” Kohta shook his head, eyes on the table, trying his best to stick to the speech he prepared. “He drinks sometimes and gets carried away with whatever Asagi suggests.”

Tadashi sipped his coffee. If there was one thing Kohta was able to do it was making excuses for his brother. He seemed unable to stand on his own two feet without Kirito, and Tadashi could see the dynamic clearly. All he had to do was push Kohta a bit, and  he’d topple over too.

“Tell me does Kirito always take his anger out on you?”

Kohta reminded silent, but Tadashi continued unabated, “To be honest it doesn’t seem right.”

“He’s my brother, we grew up together. I don’t mind.”

Tadashi stood, “I just hope he doesn’t forget that.”

Kohta sighed. Only the truth spilled from Tadashi’s lip, but even if his brother was neglecting him, using him because he knew that he’d be there, he didn’t mind. He would follow him anywhere.

“Made you some tea,” Asagi grinned, placing the kettle on the table before sitting down beside Aiji.

“Thanks.”

The two had become good friends over this month. It seemed strange at first for Asagi’s main topic of conversation was Kirito, and his use of lurid language took some getting use to. He did, however, have no one else to talk to. Shinya kept to himself and would only speak a few works here and there. Kai was too happy and in a way could never really comprehend his situation. No, it was Asagi that he was able to tell all this thoughts to.

Aiji poured the tea, blowing onto the cup before taking a small sip, only to have it scorch his mouth before he could get a taste. He didn’t mind so much though, because Kirito held him to a rather high standard and tea drinking wasn’t one of them. There were several more of these small rules, but in the weeks they became fuzzy, and little by little he was forgetting what exactly he was supposed to be doing.

“He must’ve taken you hard, you’re limping and everything.”

Aiji cheeks grew red, “Yeah um..”

“Ah, has he already stopped using lube?”

Again, Asagi’s assumption with his sex life made Aiji a little uncomfortable, yet he knew it was okay. They shared the same lover, and over the weeks he’d stayed it seemed like Kirito never really paid much attention to him. So Aiji quickly figured that this was Asagi’s way of pretending Kirito still cared for him. Knowing exactly what he was doing to Aiji so he’d know how to please him when he was called again.

“Yeah he’s gotten into pulling my hair a lot too.” He mentally winced.

“He gets trapped in the moment sometimes.”

Asagi looked up towards the clock, grinning he knew Kirito would be back sooner than he usually did, having looked at his schedule for the day.  Any minute now he’d return and knowing him would come into the pet’s room as he always did.

The raven haired male grinned, “Aiji, I have to go. Kai wanted my help with something.”

Aiji nodded, holding up his cup, “Thanks again.”

“Don’t mention it.”

Aiji sighed pouring another cup of tea watching as Asagi disappeared into one of the rooms. He was getting use to Kirito, and some of his odd ticks, but in a way that made him all the more alluring. No one was perfect, and hell being dictator of Japan probably would have anyone developing some odd habits. In the end, Aiji was glad that he found someone in this world to help him adjust to his new situation. And he had grown to enjoy Kirito, even now as he stared at the clock he was missing him. Wanting to be in his embrace, to feel his warmth and be safe in his arms.

He closed his eyes, tea now cooling off to allow bigger sips. It called him and he slowly sipped while letting his mind drift off…

Suddenly, his hand jarred, hot tea spilling on his pants as the cup fell to the wooden floor.  Aiji winced in pain, yet that next moment brought even more, for a hand came across his face, backhanding him with no remorse. He blinked, shocked, hand reaching up to his now reddening face. The hot tea didn’t feel so painful anymore as he looked up, heart wrenching, as he realized the one that hit him was none other than his lover.

“How many times do I have to tell you don’t drink tea Aiji!” The dictator yelled chest heaving under his black suit.

“I’m sorry-I forgot. I didn-”

Reaching out, he grabbed onto Aiji’s shirt, “I don’t like when you forget, Aiji.”

He bit his lip, “I know, I’m sorry.”

“Oh, you will be..”

Aiji looked up at him, and for the first time he saw a fire in the Kirito’s eyes that terrified him.  His grip tightened around his collar pulling him up and closer, feeling his hot breath on his face. Aiji closed his eyes, he failed Kirito; he failed his lover. He made him angry, and he hated himself for it. Opening his eyes to the other, he had not realized that a single tear fell past his check.

“Asagi!” Kirito yelled out, letting go of Aiji once the other male stepped into the room.

“Yes, Kirito..-sama,” Asagi knew to add the honorific once seeing the mood he was in. He quickly walked over, doing his best to avert his eyes.

The dictator let go of his grip on Aiji’s shirt grabbing onto Asagi’s wrist.

“Bedroom,” he commanded in a low, forceful voice. “Now.”
