It's 4:13 a.m. and she's managed to get a copy of Alan's card key. They're seen together enough by the front desk clerks that they don't think anything of it to give her a copy of his key, which was a nice surprise to her. She walks down the hall slowly, even though it makes no difference. The balloons she bought (four black and three red, yes she thought she was clever) were dragging on the walls and making squeaking noises. She was still in her flannel pajamas when she unlocked the door and walked in. She's actually relieved to find he's not sharing his bed with someone.
After letting the balloons go and setting up the radio she turns it on and sits on the side of the bed. "Wake up, Alan! It's your birthday!"
