omens, signs, portents
I may not be a spiritual person but I am highly superstitious. I don't worry about black cats crossing my path but when something minor unnerves me I take it as a sign. When these minor events start piling up, I start to worry.
Of course I believe in good omens as well. I just haven't noticed many of those lately. This bothers me more than the large amount of bad portents.
I'm afraid that what little luck I've had has left me.
