Ok, so there's this ring I have that I haven't been able to find lately. I know it's in the house somewhere, but I've checked my jewelry box and it's a no show. I figure, hey, maybe I had my mom hang on to it for me for safe keeping or something. She's at work today (12 hour shift, hooray for nursing) so I know that she'll be tired when she gets home and won't want to deal with looking through her jewelry. I decide to take a look myself since I know I'll be careful with stuff. No problem, right?
Well, I get to this one small box, and it looks like there's a seashell inside. I turn it over to see what kind it is and IT'S A DAMN GLASS EYE. What the hell?! I can't think of anyone in the family who has had a glass eye. Granted, I'm running on adrenaline right now because I had some coffee and unexpected eyeballs make me feel a tinge queasy.
The secondary problem from all this: If I ask her about it, she'll know I was looking through her jewelry and she'll probably yell at me (fine, fine, I probably shouldn't have, but I just wanted to check for my ring before I turned the house upside down looking for it and I knew she'd be too tired after work). If I don't ask her about it, it's going to bug me. I mean, I touched someone's eyeball. Oh god.
Edit: Well, I found the ring at least. Yay! But still.
Double Edit: I asked her about it and she used to work for an optometrist and got it there as a cool thing to just have. Makes sense, I'd probably do the same.
