If you have written me between January and May this year, and are expecting a reply, you won't get it unless you remind me. I lost all my emails, sent and received, from that period, when someone or something corrupted a lot of my files.
As far as I can tell, most of the corrupted files (including the main Outlook Express database) were created or changed during the past few weeks. Not all such files went bad, though, and a few of the corrupted files hadn't been used at all for a long time.
In any case, trojans or adware infected my Windows two days ago (adding some goddamn "features" to Explorer that I couldn't remove), so I formatted the system disk and reinstalled. I keep my personal files on a data HD, but after the reinstall, Windows decided to check the file system on my data HD for errors. It said it found several "orphaned" files etc, and proceeded to rebuild the indexes. Okay. But shortly after that, I noticed there were things missing. :(
So I've restored things from my last backup around New Year's, thus I'm missing nearly half a year of correspondence. So if you have sent or received email from me in that time, please send it back to me now, for I'd like to keep records.
