How was this list derived? Do the titles have any significance?

It appears to be a mostly random list of books that I lifted off someone else's LJ meme, which that person had liften off yet another LJ. Pretty meaningless, in other words. :-)

I recognize many of the titles as classics or other "should have read" books.

Men jag har inte läst några Hairy Pothead-böcker, och det har du! :)

I see you favor Terry Prachett. Would you recommend her?

What about the CS Lewis stuff? Worthwhile to read at my age, or is it kids' stuff?

Terry is a man. :) Yes, I do recommend his Discworld books, although having read a dozen or so of them, I must say I'm finally getting rather fed up with his writing-style. When I began to read the series in the early 1990s, however, I thought it was brilliant.

About the Narnia books, I really couldn't say. I have a theory that pretty much *any* remotely good book you read at an early age will stay with you, and you will more or less automatically like it even in later years. Young minds are more impressionable, and perhaps they have a greater sense of magic and, above all, the capacity to really lose themselves in a piece of fiction; to see and feel much more than what is actually on the page. You get a more romantic relationship with a story you read at a young age, than if you had first read it when you're older. At least that is the case with me.

I read the Narnia books when I was a kid, so I really don't know how it would be for you. If you have a young mind, then...perhaps.
