Morrow Bay

Ok so over the weekend,

Jeff and I drove down to visit his brother on Saturday. I had never been to

Morrow Bay before. It is near Hearst Castle. Jeff’s brother’s house is so nice.

It looks over the beautiful blue bay. The first day we went sight seeing, driving around, it

was very much like Capitola beach withal the shops.

There was a Harvest festival on the peer. We had done some beer tasting and watch a folk

band play. I have a nice beer glass that has Morrow Bay on it. We went back to the house

showered and relaxed.

Sunday we went bike riding. We rode our bikes along a dirt path along the blue bay.

We looked out from high cliffs over the bay and rode for about 2 hours. The weather was

perfect. We had lunch; eat clam chowder and calamari strips (deep fried tarantulas).

We drove around and went sight seeing. Saw different sections of town in the area.

After driving around and sight seeing we went back to the house made drinks and

relaxed. Jeff surprised me and we went to a natural spring’s hot tub place. It was soo nice.

looking up at the stars in our own private hot tub. Went back to the house and we both

passed out.

Monday we woke up early had a quick bite for breakfast, and went kayaking on Morrow

Bay. It was beautiful weather again. We kayaked for 2 hours paddling along the sail

boats, sea otters, and sea lions. We got to see all kinds of birds and watch sea lions chase

fish.Otters chewing on oyster shells. We felt like we were on the national geographic

channel. We landed our kayaks on a sand spit which was really cool. It was like an

Egyptian desert with huge sand dunes. I have never run amongst the dunes. Was a lot of

fun. We took a few pictures. We eat at Harry’s Haffbrau and enjoyed French dip

sandwiches Mmm Mmmm Good.

Than we headed back to the house, showered and gathered our belongings. 5 hour drive

home.

The weekend was very relaxing.

If you get a chance and enjoy the beach I recommend checking it out.

Keep in mind it’s a sleepy older community. So it’s very quiet.

Take care.
