I thought something funny was going on with polaroid, ever since that Photojojo article. Polaroid stopped manufacturing film as of December 31st 2008. I don't know how long it'll be on the shelves of retailers for, but I've found some websites that sell some. The latest expiry date on the film packs that this one site I've checked sells is October '09. I hope there'll be other places to get 600 film, because if not, my polaroid camera and I will only live together untill october comes this year, which is pretty lame. I haven't taken any of my own, but I've looked up some flickr photostreams of polaroid photos, and some are just unbelievable; the moments that you can capture, and the way they come out on film with all the dream-like colours. There's something really nostalgic about them, and the beauty of them is sort of soothing, and comforting. I'd have hoped that these properties would affect others like they do me a few generations longer. There are new types of polaroid cameras out though, however the film is of different dimensions and I'm really not sure that it'll be as lovely as classic polaroid camera photos.
I'll make the most of this, if I have to.
