Little bird, eyes round with fear
Gazing out at us from her secret perch.
Awaiting babies, ain't she brave
To set up next with so much traffic?
Little eyes, like dinner plates
For little birds and their little mates
Look out at me, but I don't see them
I'm occupied to gaze at you.
"Please don't touch," the tourguide says,
But we would never think to bother,
Hands so clasped onto each others,
So in awe of devotion and bird.
Let her dedication fuel us,
Let her boldness be example
Let us stay together always:
Dedication taught by little eyes
Watching us with tender fear,
Not for herself, instead that whom she loves.
Let her teach us to stand prominent
In the rush of passersby
To boldly love and live in splendor,
Protect each other until forced goodbyes.
