[Hayley was nervous as she arrived at Marco's door after her chat with Capa int he lab. Part of her wanted to punch him in the face for punching Merlin and wanted to be angry with him and yell and never talk to him again, but another part of her wanted to know why he had even punched Merlin and she couldn't help but hope just a little bit that he was trying to protect her or something. She couldn't help it, given the way Merlin seemed so astoundingly not protective of her most of the time.
The girl knocked on Marco's door. She was, for once, in jeans and a tank-top without her red jacket, Merlin's bracelet around her right wrist, a watch on her left, and two necklaces were tucked beneath the neckline of her shirt.] "It's me."

[Hayley didn't respond, letting herself into his room, even if it meant brushing past him. She wanted to make sure that she was inside before she began. As soon as they were both back inside, the door closed, she rounded on him, dropping her arms stiffly to her sides.] "What the hell, Marco?"
"Anything that you did lately that you could think that I might be upset about?" [She asked bitterly, though it was mostly exaggerated. Hayley was less angry than she was acting even now, staring at him with a mixture of skepticism and judgment.] "Anything at all?"
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe punching the guy I'm kind of seeing then not telling me about it? Do you think that could maybe upset me?" [She was all sarcasm now, incredulous at his utter lack of anything. Hayley believed him when he said he didn't know and it was the only thing that saved her, at this moment, from becoming genuinely angry. Instead, she still just wanted answers.]
"Okay, first? Why did you punch him? I know you two have issues, but you have to admit the timing is a little weird here. And second? Why didn't you tell me? I know it's probably not your proudest moment or whatever, but I asked you about it and you just told me you didn't want to talk about it. We both know you never would have told me. I never would have known if I hadn't asked him."
[The sarcasm faded into sincerity as she spoke. Hayley was less upset about Marco punching Merlin than she was about neither of them telling her until now. She also didn't understand the male mentality of fixing things with violence, so the punch seemed a more severe reaction in her mind.]
[Hayley shook her head, frustrated. He was the third person in the last few weeks to talk about how they just didn't want to share everything and it was normal and better to each keep their own thoughts. Her body stiffened and she began to slip into actual hurt and anger, though it was only partially conveyed as she tried to stuff it down.]
"Just tell me why you punched him. You've never liked him. Why then? Did he say something? Was it a flood? What?" [The girl had partially resigned herself to failure at this point. She didn't really expect an answer, but she felt she needed to ask him straight so that, if he refused to answer, she could at least know that much. That maybe he didn't really want to be friends.]
