Cally 'n Mac's Apartment, Friday Morning

Cally wasn't so out of things that she didn't know what today was. Which is why before Mac even woke up, she'd slipped out of bed and started making a ridiculously huge breakfast. Pancakes, waffles, toast, juice, it was all out.

She was still trying to make up for being gone. And today should be a special day.

It wasn't really possible to anything remotely sneaky in an apartment this size, so it didn't take long for a yawning and pajama-clad Mac to make her way over and investigate.

"Morning," she said, as she wandered over to the kitchen area where Cally was.

"Happy Birthday!" Cally exclaimed.

Early morning was still all in Mac, so she blinked momentarily, not really expecting that level of enthusiam at this hour.

All she really managed in reponse was a smile and a dazed, "Mmmm, thanks," as she went to try and hug Cally. Early morning, auto 'want snuggle' reflex.

Cally hugged Mac, trying not to hit her with the spatula. "Hi."

"Smells good," she murmured into Cally's shoulder before pulling back a little. She smiled a little more alertly at the other woman. "You've been busy this morning."

"Well I couldn't wake you to find out what you'd want," Cally said. "So I wanted to have everything covered."

Mac finally got around to surveying the food itself. "Wow. How long have you been up?"

"A bit?" Cally said. "I wanted to make this a really special day for you."

"Mm-hm. A bit," Mac said skeptically. She smiled anyway as she leaned back in closer to Cally again. "Thank you," she said again, going to give her a quick kiss.

Cally kissed back. "So, help yourself," she said. "Because I... there's a lot."

"You have a habit of going crazy on breakfast," Mac agreed with a little laugh. "Can't say I'll complain. Food? Never a problem. At all."

She turned to find a couple of plates from the counter. "You better be helping me along, though," she added.

"I will," Cally said. "Now that I can stop cooking."

Mac inhaled happily. "One of these days, I'm going to have to return the favour and make you breakfast," she said. "I feel like I'm slacking over here."

"Hey. I kinda had to do a bit more cooking than you in the past. This is something I'm used to," Cally said. "And... I like to do this for you. Cause I love you."

"And I love you," she returned, smiling as she held out one of the plates to Cally. "You deserve the pampering, too."

Cally took the plate. "Awww, you're sweet," she said. She switched off the stove top. "Shall we sit?"
