it's my new [old] truck! a 1980 chevrolet cheyenne-10 long-bed pick-up truck.
my dad has owned it for the last 27 years, and it's [hopefully] going to be mine next.
nifty truck stats:
- it was purchased new back on april 14th, 1980 at holler chevrolet in orlando.
- it has a semi-new in-line v6, 160hp crate motor with 65,000 miles on it.
- the truck (not the engine) has logged 185,650 miles in its lifetime.
- it has a maximum sustained speed of 70 mph, and can go 0-70 mph in about 20 minutes.
- it was a very fuel efficient vehicle in the 80's - 10 mpg city and 15 mpg highway.
- a year after its production, it was recalled for a severe gas-tank flaw which causes a massive explosion 30 seconds after a side-impact crash. (we're gonna fix that).
- it has no headrests, airbags, or anti-lock brakes, and the seat-belts need to be replaced.
driving update: i kick ass at it.
