Ain't got nothing but the blues
Last night I went up to Seattle for Janet's white trash blues party. Aw, it was so fun!! Everyone who was originally going to go with me had to bail different reasons, but luckily Russ and Brenda wanted to go at the last minute. I woke up at 4-ish on Saturday and spent the whole day getting my costume together. I met up with Russbrenda at 7:20ish and after bumbeling around for literally hours, we were finally on the road. We got there at like 12 and right when I stepped into the door I was greeted instantly by Thao screaming "Vic, Vic!! Oh you look so good! Get in this picture with us!" oh Thao, I love that girl. There were literally 3 of us dressed up white trash, and mine was by far the most intense, but it made the night so much funner. I'm going to start dressing up randomly.
There were tons of people there! two bands played, and alot of the songs were pretty upbeat, which would have been great if there was more space to dance, but there wasn't at all, so I just ended up danceing for most of the blues songs. I had some really good danced with Cynthia as always, and Thao as always, and one really good lindy dance with this girl I'd never met before, that one freaking rocked. Good lindy dances are so precious, they don't happen too often. It's so rare to find someone I can have a good lindy hop with - this is mostly because I'm not solid on the fundamentals of what the connection and movement should be, and so it takes a certain type of person to be compatible with my sloppy style, but i will say in my defense that I understand these things more than most of the girls I dance with most of the time - here especially, which is another reason I love going to seattle because people there are better in general.
This blues party was genuinely fun, it didn't have much of a swanky vibe at all, which was really nice. I'm so glad Thao was there, we had lots of fun. We ate bacon while we danced the blues
I wish Katie could have come so bad. We would have had 3x more fun, and we would have done something like this:
Dreidel seemed happier than I'd seen her in awhile, I'm really glad. It was her birthday actually, I really wish i would have known, I would have done something special for her.

We drove back afterwards and I got to bed a little after 9am and woke up at 5:45, geez.. let's see if I can unscrew myself out of this one! haha. I wish I didn't have to go to work, ugh.. that place is nothing but bad for me.
