(no subject)
So, here's a shocker. I've been wanting to move into another department at work for a while now, but they've really been dragging their feet about it. I thought I wasn't getting paid enough to be doing the amount of work that I've been doing, and I wanted a change of scenery, but switching departments.
So the big boss pulls me into her office yesterday, and is like, "Okay, so I heard from (manager 1 and manager2) that you wanna switch departments and you wanted to go to either (department 1 or department 2). I think you'd be great in either one with your work ethic...BUT (GROAN!!!), you are the glue that holds your department together and we'd be hurting if we moved you somewhere else."
Well, I was gearing up to throw a hissy fit, when she says, "BUT...you always do what we ask you to, and go above and beyond what your job entails, and we abuse you, so what I'm doing is giving you a raise (ka-ching!) and making you the (my department) coordinator."
Sweet. This will tide me over for a while.
Don't get me wrong, I still want to change depts eventually. However, this will do...for now. :P
