I went to Hollywood on Thursday

You're right. I'm not part of the press. But this was the only sign I could find to take a picture of.

So I'm going to explain how my life got infinity better this week.

Let me start with the bad karma. I am the second computer aid in the house I live in, and with 72 international students it tends to have some busy moments during deadline times. HOWEVER. Head Network Administrator. DID something ridiculous. WAS punished. KICKED out of the house for 2 weeks.

Day after the server crashed. Internet went down completely.

Yeah.

So 72 people. No internet. You guys understand how painful it is without it, so see that times a thousand. I was in HELL. No idea why the server crashed, and why it wouldn't kick itself out and back online. I had to do shitloads of guesswork just to get two routers working. We have 7 here.

So I deserved a freaking massive reward for my wonderful efforts to restore peace.

And it came from LA.

In the form of this man:

I took a flight down to LAX on Thursday morning with a slight delay and rushed around the airport to find the exit. I'm serious, finding yourself in the middle of the chaos that is L.A. is crazy, so I got on phone found the arrivals pick-up and waited for kittylugnut . (Must mention how she looked after me and I am very thankful :)) We drove down to downtown L.A. with poor directions from me and discussed the rule/law of highways in great detail, and tried to find tsukihysteria with even more poorly calculated directions from me. I am pretty much certain you don't care about all of this, but I like to give you as much excitement in my recap as I felt when I was there. So found a parking garage, ate some greasy food which exploded quite nicely onto my cardigan, and walked over to the cinema.

We were about 7th in line, which was pretty damn good considering there was meant to be about 500 of in the cinema, not forgetting the cast and crew and fox people who would also fill up the seats. Like at the BAFTAs, we spent the next few hours sitting and waiting for anything. ANYTHING. Slightly afraid we weren't in the right place, and no staff wanting to directly address us so we could get confirmation of the fact. Then around 6-6.30 there was some buzzing, you know the anticipation of something happening.

At this time we were admiring kittylugnut's Cane, which distracted us from the facts that RSL was standing behind us. BEHIND US. The chances. Anyway, we started watching the "blue" carpet from a far and noticed that he was standing there having a chat with some people, and some ambitious fans behind us decided to go and ask for a picture. Which they managed to get. And the picture was awesome. He looked happy and everything. I made that sound ridiculous. But yeah.

Then we saw some other people, here is my miserable attempt of getting Peter Jacobson:

So yeah I epically failed on my part. So instead we hopped, skipped and jumped in past some of the queue because we had made good acquaintances, and found ourselves inside, watching Hugh Laurie having an interview on the carpet and receiving free popcorn and drinks with snakes on a cane plastered all over it. It's on my desk right now.

Though seeing the back of Hugh Laurie's head is a wonderful experience, we knew that getting a good seat was too damn important and so we headed round and found the first 3 rows completely empty. And we did what all good fanatics do and sat front row, centre.

The light was pretty low, and even with flash the whole set of pictures are poor and fuzzy and don't really show you how close we really were to them. We approximated around 10ft, excluding that time that we don't mention but included an exchange of body heat. JK well. No I am not. But you just wouldn't understand :P

So yeah, oh and there was the actual episode. WHICH I'VE DECIDED WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. AMAZING. TOTALLY NOT A HOUSE EPISODE AT ALL, BUT YEAH A VERY AMAZING, COMPLETELY DIFFERENT AMAZING EPISODE. VERY COOL. I CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU TO ALL WATCH IT. I'm not going to talk about it because I think that will be unfair to all of you, there are spoilers about I know that, but for you to actually get the whole thing, and some of you might stumble across it by accident so I'm not going to do that either. But yeah it satisfied. :)

When it finished the cast left, whether Hugh was still there I don't know, but I wouldn't watch myself on screen so if he had the chance to leave, I would've done. I bet he did too. Anyway. Jesse is that gorgeous, Lisa is that slender and pretty, Hugh's eyes are that blue,  Omar is that cool, Olivia that alluring and Peter is that small. Jen wasn't there which was a bit of a let down, but look. I can't complain.

When we left we were given a goody bag with a t-shirt and a badge, which HELLO MADE OUR NIGHT. I'm wearing it right now because I slept in it and it's a snakes on a cane tee, ahh. So much awesome. And limited addition amirite?

Anyways that was my day.

I went for dinner with kittylugnut and tsukihysteria at a Denny's (cross that off my American food place list) and stayed round the latter's which I am so grateful for, because it saved me money and her family was absolutely lovely. I got up the next day and was dropped off at the local metro station, went to LA union station and got a train back to San Jose. To top off my awesome 2 days the girl I sat next to is going on international exchange to London next week. WHAT ARE THE CHANCES? SO we spent the journey chatting away about what to do and how to travel and things.

AND kittylugnut gave me this:

And my life is now complete, ta-da. The rest is all bonus.

PS. Sorry for the run-on and poorly written sentences. They deserve to be edited. But they can't always get what they want.

I do ask that the pictures aren't reposted unless I give permission!
