At the Movies, 2010.

Dec 11, 2010 04:16

Working on my best of lists for the calendar year 2010, I got bored and compiled a list of movies I both have and have NOT seen (either through laziness, unavailability, or only mild interest) this year, and discovered the huge disparity between the two.

Here's what I have seen to date. Bold indicates seen in a theater.

Daybreakers, Youth In Revolt, The Book of Eli, The Lovely Bones, Legion, Edge of Darkness, Frozen, The Wolfman, Shutter Island, Cop Out, The Crazies, Alice in Wonderland, Brooklyn’s Finest, Green Zone, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Hot Tub Time Machine, How To Train Your Dragon, Clash Of The Titans, Kick Ass, Exit Through the Gift Shop, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Iron Man 2, MacGruber, Survival of the Dead, Splice, The Karate Kid, Winter's Bone, Cyrus, Toy Story 3D, Predators, Inception, The Kids Are All Right, Dinner For Schmucks, The Other Guys, The Expendables, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, Piranha 3-D, Machete, Easy A, The Town, Legend of the Guardians, The Social Network, Hereafter, Jackass 3D, Saw 3D, Skyline, Due Date, Unstoppable, Harry Potter 7.0.

Will undoubtedly see Tron Legacy, True Grit, Black Swan, 127 Hours and The Fighter (if Pittsburgh gets it in time) before the year is out.

Now here's what i haven't seen but want to (to varying degrees):

Fish Tank, Creation, 44 Inch Chest, The Most Dangerous Man in America - Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers, The Ghost Writer, A Prophet, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Restrepo, Greenberg, The Runaways, Chloe, No One Knows About Persian Cats, Harry Brown, The Human Centipede, Robin Hood, Get Him To the Greek, The A Team, Knight And Day, Despicable Me, The Girl Who Played with Fire, [REC] 2, Life During Wartime, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, Flipped, Middle Men, Mao’s Last Dancer, The Tillman Story, Centurion, Meserine / Meserine: Public Enemy #1, The American, I’m Still Here, Lovely Still, Smash His Camera, Never Let Me Go, Catfish, Devil, Jack Goes Boating, Buried, Howl, The Virginity Hit, Waiting for “Superman”, Wall Street Money Never Sleeps, Barry Munday, Hatchet II, Let Me In, I Spit On Your Grave, Inside Job, Nowhere Boy, Stone, Red, Paranormal Activity 2, Client 9 -- The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer, Megamind, The Next Three Days, Tangled, The King’s Speech, I Love You Phillip Morris, Rare Exports, Rabbit Hole, Biutful, The Way Back, Solitary Man, When You’re Strange, Best Worst Movie, Micmacs, The People Vs George Lucas, 8 The Mormon Proposition, The Killer Inside Me, Love Ranch, Get Low, Lebanon, Cairo Time, The Horde, The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest, Tomorrow When the War Began, You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, Freakonomics, Carlos, 11-04-08, Eichmann, Monsters, Fair Game, Red Hill, Four Lions, Tiny Furniture, Love And Other Drugs, Casino Jack, Blue Valentine.

So between now and the end of the year, I'm going to see how many of these I can knock off. For my own amusement, I'll update this post whenever I do. Hopefully in another 3 weeks, I'll have a better and more balanced position upon which to judge "my favorite" movies of the year.
