Finally got a copy of Ame's book (
Dragon Shaman 2) in the mail. :D Cover doesn't look too bad, though definitely going to mess around more digitally for the next cover, I think. Maybe learn to better blend traditional and digital, or just learn how to make traditional look better; pencils aren't exactly my strength when it comes to colouring. Perhaps paint. Dunno. Will see how it goes.
Book cover was a little bent when I took it out, but eh. It's not too bad. The printing is very nice quality, at least. =3 A very nice paperback to look at and hold. And signed to boot, that makes my third signed book in my collection. X3
Already finished it, too. After snoozing a little more with the box on me. c.c A very nice story. I did get a little lost in what was going on once in a while, though pulling back and looking at the surrounding context helped me get unlost. Also noticed a few typos here and there. XD Otherwise, Faith did a good job, I say. Was mostly it's/its (which I sometimes have trouble with still), one "here" instead of "hear" near the beginning, and one other thing that I can't recall. Out of 403 pages, that's a fair bit better than some other published items out there.
I quite liked the liveliness of the characters, as well. While I can't say I can sympathise with BlowingWind much, I do feel for poor Ryu. :p Got a chuckle out of one or two inside references, as well. Particularly page 401. X3 Also interesting to see the combining of Eastern and Western lore.
This is by no means a proper review. :p I will have to do one up sometime though, I think.
After I doodle a portrait of Belara.
(Also, Ame, your website link on your LJ basic info goes to a "cannot find server" page. May want to fix that.)
