Update?
I have a paper due in two days, and so I dust off lj to procrastinate.
Life has been fine. We live in northern virginia, and now i work at a vet a little south of here. the vet thing is getting very old though, thus the paper from the class - working on dietetics-type things. Getting decent hours, and still working in rockville once a week (nice to see familiar faces).
Also brought home two kittens around birthday time in september. they are freaking adorable and a total disaster. joe likes them too, and that's what matters, ha. so now we are a nutty three cat, two bird family, although the birds get ignored much more than they should. :/
Married life is fine. it's nice to not have the insane ups and downs of dating, and we are very comfortable together. routines are nice, but also a little boring. both of us are pretty introverted people, so our social life is nearly non-existent. that's probably my biggest gripe right now. we don't have money to travel or have cool hobbies, and aren't great at connecting with new people - and the old are slowly drifting away. we mostly work and study and play with the creatures of the house - we're such old people!
i miss connecting with other people though. especially getting on lj again, i get all nostalgic. maybe fall and the approaching holidays just do it - there's a lot more darkness during which you can sit and contemplate.
on the bright side, i have a couple of those little ornamental kale/cabbage things in the front yard, and they are totally awesome - even ben agrees, heh.
