you've made my point for me..

I once came across an awesome bumper sticker that said "The media is only as liberal as the conservative corporations that own them." and it's so true. which is why I mentioned that it's now up to the individuals in each genre to inspire social change. and over time (through societal evolution), we'll get a sense of equality and real freedom. I think about what I've learned from Radiohead. or Cameron Crowe. or Douglas Coupland. or even Dawson's Creek. man, it's the little details of the things we're attracted to that teach us who to be. these days, we're raised on popular culture. at least in the west (where the power lies)..

to me, I think it's as simple as reprioritizing our budget from defense and intelligence to education. and from business welfare to social welfare. ending the war on drugs and terrorism. and building up local government. once we get our shit together here in America, we can spread the word about education, community, and self-government allowing the vast majority of the citizens of this planet to pursue some form of dream. I think that's what it's all about. and I really want to jump into how I think it's important to the existence of our species that each child has access to information but it seems trite in this dialogue box. but the Einstein's of the world could come from any village, any where. and one day, we'll need to leave this planet.. if not for nuclear war, than for a meteor. or overpopulation. or famen. or if we make it that far, a supernova. I often wonder if we'll find someone to unlock the secrets to battling each of those global threats before it becomes too late.I wonder if it's racism or classism or self-absorption or apathy that will prevent it. but I usually come to the conclusion that it's ignorance..

anyway, now I just have to figure out how to convey that in an artform accessible to the masses and acquire the money to make it available..

I think the internet is going to play a really vital role in any anarchist (ew, ugly word with bad connotation) movement. granted, I don't have much hope. but I do wish to play a part in this particular struggle. I think this is the ultimate battle that history and religion and science all speak of.
