the debate over waxing verses shaving the downstairs area has been raging for some time now, here i will offer my personal experiences and opinions on the matter
( Read more... )
haha vikola i love you! im a pro waxer too.. BUT im just lazy cuz im not going steady with anyone.... so shaving is more ideal for the moment. i go to brazillian butterfly in melbourne and they are fantastic and i highly suggest them, because obviously they specialist in brazillians. they use three different type of wax for just a xxx. not to meantion, they didnt rip out my hood piercing at all too. how ever i just have to add, the first timers.. i was red for like over a week and it looked fucking gross.... dont expect the first time to look so good hah... maybe that was just me and being more sensitive but who knows. they also have aftercare products and they'll offer you a special for your first time for an exfoliate and a soothing loation and loofa etc. http://www.brazilianbutterfly.com.au/ they are a bit more pricey how ever, but im happy with the professionalism and how gentle they are.
oh and please never let them double dip the waxing stick into the wax. make sure they use a new one each time they pick up more wax. think about how much other poon has been double dipped in there... :) and make sure you're sitting on a clean disposable towel that is thrown out straight after you use it :)
1. my waxist uses one or two types of wax, depending on the hair growth level etc. 2. my redness/tenderness only last one or two days. 3. as soon as i get home from my wax, i whack on a healthy dose of essentials baby cream (without lanolin) and leave it on overnight and it takes the heat/inflamation right down. couple panadol helps too. 4. after care is the KEY to maintaining a healthy, smooth poonie. 5. ann's the best, she dips, wipes and discards EVERY time, i cannot stress enough how important that is to me! lordy!
yeah they did put the cream and stuff on afterwards and then gave me soothing creme too. it just didnt quite help me haha. oh best advice never get it done before, during or after ur period.. go mid cycle. it hurts less mid cycle. its never hurt me afterwards.. just red raw. hah. yeah working at the dentist has made me really careful on infection control. i wouldnt want to catch herpes or hepatitis from getting a poon wax
oh i still get my period i got implanon too ive had it for almost 3 years. i need to get it changed the end of this year. my period is normal. except the odd time where i'd not get it one month.... or id get it twice in one month (happened only 3-4 times). my gynae said thats normal.. and he said its quite normal to get your period for 3-6 months straight. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeww. id get it out if i got my period like lasted more then one month..
yea apparently the implanon can mess with you a bit like that. i choose it because i would NEVER remember to take the pill on time, or like, ever and i totally do not want to get preggers. i tried the depo shot in my bum for a while, but since you have to get it every three months it was messing with my hormones to much, i'd get this surge of crap into me (when i got the shot) then it would waver towards the end of the three months and it was such a pain to go to the doctors that much. implanon is so convinient because i don't have to remember to take or do anything and its 99.9% effective or something, and i like those odds!
anyway, thanks to the depo shot and now the implanon, i have had a period free life for about 2 years now. i dont feel abnormal or unnatural at all, i dont get crazy PMS, i dont get horrible cramps or back pain, and i dont have to spend money on sanitary items so i can spend it on clothes and booze instead! awesome!
haha yeah it changes everyones period and stuff. sometimes worse, sometimes better. it doesnt suit everyone. i took it for the same reasons as you. pill is inconvienient and well i wasnt interested in the depo shot, becuz it just means you'd have to go every couple months. and its the most effective against getting knocked up.. first best thing next to getting your tubes tied :D and once you're off it, you can get pregnant within a month if you want to try. it made my period much lighter and the cramps werent too bad. but my period used to be heavy for 4 days then light for 2.. but its only heavy for 2 days then light for 4 or 5.. but the last two days are soooo light.
that shot in the bum sounds absolutely horrible. there's no way i'd put up with that. and i'd never remember to take the pill, i'm so bad with routines. i got implanon in late october last year, but it hasn't been perfect. i had one period in five months or something (which ruled!), and then had it continuously (though quite lightly) for about a month. which didn't rule at all. so i went to my doctor, who actually prescribed a painkiller which balances the effect. the period has stopped, and hopefully when the week's run of tablets is up, it'll be gone for good. if i starts again, i'm going to have to start taking hormones (possibly the pill) to stop it. arrggghhh. hopefully it doesn't start again, fingers crossed, because i don't want to have to take anything else, or worse, have it removed. i still love it, because i know how good it was when i started going out with tim, and we could have sex anytime, anywhere. i miss that. :( having said that, my periods are still a million times better, with implanon.
yea the depo/bum shot sucks a fair bit, i mean, you can get it in your bum OR your arm but either way the up and down of your hormones is probably worse than if you just left it all alone. you dont know your own cycles anymore, i didnt get any blood loss at all but i was still pms'ing a bit. like, i'd go totally crazy and sad and cry at everything and i could never work out why and then i'd start feeling better and remember the depo and i'd blame it all on that.
but with the amount of running around you have to do to get a prescription and then get the shot it was so not worth it.. plus if you are trying for kids it can take up to 18 months to get out of your system in comparison to the implanon which once removed, it is out of your system once and for all.
plus with the pill, apparently it can affect your sex drive because of the hormones in it, and even once you stop taking it the levels of this particular-anti-sex-hormone are still 3 or 4 times higher than somone who's never been on the pill. see this link: http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,15420701-28698,00.html
there so much to take into consideration when chosing birth control, i'm just gald that mine works so rad for me!
yeah, it's great tht you've found something that works! i'm hoping that my implanon settles down again and all is fine, because really, i don't want to have it taken out. i'm quite sure that i don't want to be on the pill or have injections or have to use condoms, and i don't think anyone would let me have my "tubes tied" regardless of how much i hate children... hahaha. i'd never heard that about the pill, but that scares me. there's no way i'm going to sacrifice my sex drive!!!
i know, see what us ladies have to go through just so we don't get knocked up!
ade was swearing black and blue that he'd take the male version of the pill so i didnt get al messed up but i'm like dude, that hasnt even been invented yet. you'd have to get your doodle fixed and he said there was no way in hell he'd ever do that.. so.. implanon it is then!
