Okay, so I got a cold after everyone battled the flu and alsorts of bronchial diseases all Winter right at Spring approaches. I figure this is fine.
Okay, it snowed on Monday right after they media announced that the snow was gone for a few more months and Spring had finally arrived. it was over 40F over the weekend, which is unheard of in these parts until about May. Exciting! I actually walked around downtown without a jacket for the first time since i arrived in january. Holy crap!
So, I am excited about the Spring.
Why?
1. Gardening. Looks like a girl I adore and I are gong to be planting a shit ton of zucs for the summer. Also, I am going to plany a little herb garden to uber-flavor my cooking skillz!
2. Montreal all in May!!!! Looks like the morning after we see death From Above in Halifax, we cross country it to Montreal, where we will hang out with Shaun's family, see art museums, and the Mountain Goats. There will other fun and exciting things that happen there, too!
3. Summer Break is here! I will be finished with my term at the end of April. I only have three more papers to write until then! Score! I will start my research asst. position writng some incredible shit on dance. I will still be working in the art gallery, and I might be interning at the artist run centre I have been devoting so much time too. Awesome!
4. (For the art fags!)The Gillian Wearing/Althea Thalberger show opens at the Khyber, and I am co-planning the entire event. Wearing's exhibit from the Tate is coming in from London. This is something not to miss! Thalberer was a short lister for the Sobey award which is the most prestigeous artist award in Canada. Not only are they coming here, but this entire show is being put together by multiple organizations in Halifax. It's like the artist community is holding hands and going on a date!
5. Camping for weekend trips, day trips, and the week long adventure in Newfoundland! The woods and me! Awesome!
6. Summer stitch and bitch with the girls! Can you say "Skirtz!"
7. Fabric printing classes that start in about a week. Whee!
