Home Sweet Home

I have *got* to learn to ignore the designer in me. I have a small gift to whip up for a gift exchange. It's part of the preemie charity group I knit/crochet with. The person I *got* is moving and quite excited about it, so a simple little "Home Sweet Home" sampler should be a good choice (the gift needs to be handmade). I have a frame I'm not ever going to use, but it's such a sweet one I can't get rid of it, either. Perfect. I have lots of aida cloth which makes the stitching go that much faster. Perfect. I've got thread that will do fine. Perfect. "Bless this house" spaces out perfectly. So no sweat. Bop bop done.

Only it would look better with a little pattern between the words. I can do a couple of quilt patterns. Those translate quite well to cross stitch. And it needs something around the words, too. And maybe something on the sides to even it out. More brown because the variegated is just too pastelly (even though we work with preemies). I need to fill in those side panels.

Just a little more. Just a little. Just just just. Oy. Brain, shut up! I've got other things to do, too!
