Senior Graduation Rites

If you don't have kids who have graduated from high school, this kind of thing can blind-side you. Last summer, between Jackson's junior and senior year, he had his official senior portraits taken. The form I saw described the smallest package for approximately $50.00. This is what I chose and paid for. Then, the proofs came back with an order form. Believing that I had already placed my order, I called the company, who now informed me that I had only paid a $50.00 sitting fee, just to get his picture in the yearbook. Now, I had to pay more to have these pictures. Please understand, the pictures were horrible. The light was unflattering, the background garishly painted in school colors, and they managed to make Jackson look completely CroMagnon. I laughed at the person on the phone, said, "No Thank You!", and told Jackson that I would take some decent pictures of him, have them printed, and everyone would be happy. Here are a couple:
