Lie Not My Heart

By: Victoria Pacillo

Through all the time we spent apart, I feel
All of life's unending tribulations.
World turning round as though it were a wheel
My love for you expands through all nations.
If I could yell my admirations loud
Enough so angels may know all my thoughts.
This poem helps my image to unshroud,
And hope that it not leave you distraught.
Could you return this feeling in my heart,
Or do you find my attempt to sappy?
To compare your love to a work of art,
Makes my eyes bright and maybe, you happy.
If you are pleased, accept my gentle prose.
You'll know my feelings are not just supposed.
