All moved in!!!
After a nice morning and a fairly grueling night of moving and packing I'm (almost) all done. I still have the contents of my desk to go, but 99% of m stuff is moved. In the end I hired a couple of hispanic gentlemen who were outside of the Uhaul location looking to help people move. They picked up my armoires like they were toys. No stressing out my friends, potentially injuring my hernia surgery situation, etc. I paid them $50 a piece for 3 hours and gave them each a $10 tip for being so responsible and friendly and generally excellent.
My thanks to everyone of my friends who helped or offered to help. The last bits of packing last night took ***forever***, however, so I didn't make it back to the city until after midnight. Rachel helped me unload. Rachel has been utterly amazing during all of this. A total life saver. Love love love love love love love. We're now going for a celebratory breakfast at Just For You where I will take communion with the Great Catfish.
For the rest of the day, setting up my room, then getting the last bits from Oakland, then teaching yoga, then maybe a raw food dinner with Liz if I feel I have time. Tomorrow night I sleep in my own bed here in the city!!!
