Lilies

So: better to get cut ones that'll die in a few days but be left alone, or plant some that'll probably get mowed down by some bored teenager?

Why would lilies that you've planted get mowed down?

((From an OOC standpoint, the bigger problem for my family leaving stuff on graves was it always getting stolen. >.> ))

"Because the people who mow the grass in cemetaries would rather not take the time to go around the plants..."

((Yeah, people suck sometimes. You know what's REALLY creepy? In the town where I grew up, in Nortern Connecticut, there's a farm that makes maple syrup. They tap trees in all the public spaces in town. Including the cemetaries. EEWWW!))

Well, that's stupid... ya can't just destroy offerings to the dead. That's a sure fire way to get haunted.

Maybe you could put the plant in a clay pot? That way it'd mess up the grass clipping machine thingy if it tried to go over it.

((You're right... there is something inately creepy about sticky, oozy stuff in cemetaries.))

"They'd throw them out. Or they'd get stolen...people don't respect the dead very much anymore."

((Definitely.))

That's... really just not right. Hell, I'm a demon and even I respect the ancestors and try not to mess with the rememberence of other peoples because I know I'd get pissed if they did the same to me.

Is there any way you can anchor somethin' like that down? Chains?

She shakes her head a little. "I don't think chains would work very well on plants..."

I mean, fasten the chains to the pot. If seen some that people hang on hooks by the doors of their dens... you'd just have to refashion the chains so that they go down towards the ground rather than upwards and drive a pike through a link on either side to keep it anchored.

Although... all that might take away from the effect you want the flowers to have. So it might be better to go with the cut ones after all.

She nods a little. "Thank you..."

No problem.

She hugs him suddenly. "We should go hunting again soon."

*blinks at the suddenness of the hug, but figures it has to do with whoever she's leaving flowers for, so he pats her on the back*

Yeah, that'd be nice. It was pretty fun the last time.

((Eheh... not too sure when "soon" would be. I'm leaving for Florida today and when I get back there will be much schoolwork since my senior project is due on the 15th. ^^;; ))

"Mm-hmm."

((We can assume it goes well, if you'd like. We don't have to play it out necessarily.))

Maybe this weekend, if you don't have anything planned then?

(( That sounds great. ^_^ ))

*eyebrows raise*

Wow, is it? Heh, I had no idea. Whattaya plan on doing to celebrate?

But yeah, leaving that night is perfectly fine with me.
