What an utterly random set of questions.

1. Which of your country's leaders (past or present) would you like to have a chance to sit down and talk to?Thomas Jefferson. He was a brilliant writer, and forward-thinking, and yet such a hypocrite. I'd love to pick apart his coping mechanisms. The idea of denying love wherever it's found is so ( Read more... )

What job would you want, to think in a happier direction?

I would like nothing better then to stay home and be a mother all the time.

And then, when the children are grown up, I want to travel. I want to find charming little towns and get odd jobs, just to see what they're like, and be the mysterious stranger for a few days or months until I move on again.

Your children are fortunate, to have so devoted a mother.

Oh? You enjoy being mysterious?

I like to think so.

Maybe.

Did you have a comfort blanket, or some such, once upon a time?

That's a tricky question. I'm going to say "no", since I doubt I was ever really a child. But I suppose that means which "me" you're asking about, doesn't it?

Never, in all your recollection? That surprises me. One need not be a child to find comfort in something.

Was my house my home before I lived there?

I can't afford the attachments. Things are too easily lost.

A point.

Do you, then, take comfort from people?

Do you really need to ask?

I suppose not.

You asked because you wanted me to say "Yes, Jareth, and from you most of all".

Well, I might not have expected "most of all," but I do hope to be some comfort to you.

Wants and expectations aren't the same things, even when they overlap.

Of course you are, as I sometimes am to you.
