Seeking a Muse-ment

Ali rarely had time, these days, to indulge in painting. Much as she might miss the endeavor, and often as she might intend to set aside some time for it, the demands of state and family left little time for something so uneasily interrupted. And, if she were completely honest with herself, the fact it was so much harder now than it once had been was discouraging for her.

But never let it be said she allowed any difficulty to stop her for long. With the children visiting their father for the day, there was a wonderfully open window of time that Ali could have all to herself. So out from their too-long wait at the bottom of a closet came her canvases, brushes, paints and other odds and ends. It wasn't long before she had set herself up in the greenhouse, where there was plenty of sunlight and subjects to be found. All she wanted for now was company.
