First, one thing should be made clear: Ali still, and probably always will, think of him has her Captain, so he had better shape up and live up to that as far as she's concerned
( ... )
Samus is one of Ali's best friends. She knows she can tell Samus anything, and Samus will do her best to understand. Samus may not actually manage to understand everything, but she doesn't get so caught up in the details that she misses the bigger picture.
She's also one of the few people Ali completely trusts in a fight. This should be no surprise to anyone, since Ali's such a vocal admirer of Samus' butt-kicking skills.
All that said, she's often frustrated by Samus' desire to keep things secret. She tries to be understanding, but she does not always like it. If she didn't love the chick so much she wouldn't put up with it. :P
Ali respects Morpheus, and feels very sorry for him. But she also feels a little uncomfortable around him sometimes because it's so hard to tell what he's thinking. She suspects that's by design.
Ali's not sure if she can save him. She's also not sure he wants to be saved. We all build our own traps, after all. So she's determined to be the best friend she can be for him until he decides what he wants.
Sometimes she wonders what life would be like if she stopped being so careful and let them become more (because, c'mon, he dates Thessaly, he can't be that picky). But as much as she thinks she'd enjoy being loved and pampered and put on a pedestal for a few weeks, she knows they'd both eventually be miserable. So she's careful.
Hans is Ali's savior. He's the man who's really truly convincing her that not all men are like James. If he can just manage to not disappear on her, they'll be all set. ;)
He's not the sort of man she ever expected to fall in love with, because he's very calm and straight-forward. Being as she is so passionate, she always thought she needed a man who could argue with her. But having been there and married that, she's starting to see the definite advantages to not having to argue about everything.
So, in short, she loves him very much and is hoping to be worthy of his attentions.
