A life of privilege has certain advantages. Advantages of which Ali has come to enjoy, and even become comfortable. Having someone else to cook and clean while she played dress-up, read, napped, and otherwise enjoyed life? Yes please. Her favorite part, if she were pressed to choose, might be dressing for dinner. At home with the goslings, dinner was a noisy, joyous affair, but not conducive to certain adult pleasures. Having a chance to wear something beautiful, to make herself a jewel fit for her noble host, was a welcome change of pace.
But even so, long afternoons to herself have lead Ali astray. The castle of vast, and full of doors; doors behind which Ali has found mysteries about which she intends to question Hans at her earliest convenience. She hoped he had answers and would be ready to share them; dinner might not be so pleasant otherwise.
