A quiet afternoon [for Hans]

Apr 25, 2008 20:10

It was a decidedly quiet afternoon in the Trainer household. The children were out, Sel was halfway to Colorado, and Sasha was...wherever Sasha goes. Everyone else was keeping to themselves, following an unspoken agreement to give each other some peace. Ali's refuge of choice was the greenhouse; more particularly, a large hammock therein, where she and a book and a cup of cocoa made for pleasant company and good conversation for the plants. Today, Ali's reading them Sonnets from the Portuguese.

As lovely as the company of plants and books and cocoa is, Ali wouldn't entirely mind some company.
