Ali walked with Sweeney through the Nexus, keeping an eye on their "chaperon" to make sure the puppy didn't wander too far away. She walked with a bit of a slouch, head down just enough for her hair to fall in her face and hands in her pockets; she walked slowly enough for Sweeney to keep pace. She walked until they reached one of the more residential areas, where a family of giant caterpillars had opened a Moroccan restaurant.
Chester was given a sidelong glance and a warning to behave from the maitre d', and then they were shown to a table in a nook along the back wall, low to the ground and surrounded by pillows for lounging-upon. They were brought green tea with mint, bowls of lemon water to wash their hands, bread and salad and even a small bowl of water for Chester. Then they're left alone.
Ali lounged on the pillows, watching Sweeney across the table while their tea was prepared, watching and waiting.
