Girls' Night Out

Oct 22, 2007 00:24

This time of year can be exhausting. There's so much to do, and frankly, most of it is rather painful in one way or another. The most pressing concern being the Formorians. The veils are so thin, here, and this time of year... I'm glad Samus volunteered to be hired for an evening's hunt. I think I'd be more insulted that Samus seems to have found the whole endeavor fun if it weren't for the fact she's so darn good at it. Watching her fight is a little like going to the ballet: even if you have no idea what she's doing, you can't help but feel a little overawed. It isn't carnage, it's art. Watching her beat the Brujah's pet ninja was just a bonus. (And she's so cute when she's drunk!)

Unfortunately, the night wasn't entirely a success. One of them got away, and from what I've been able to divine thus far it's hiding out with someone much more intelligent. I'd say something entirely unladylike here if I weren't sure my brother would find out and rat on me to Gram and Gran.

I wish I could convince myself I could do this alone, then nobody else would have to get hurt. But I'm not blessed with such ignorance, and I'm in no shape for soloing more than a hot-fudge sundae for a few days. Why do these things always hurt more the next day? It's so unfair.
